in years past, it would take six months for the session videos to come out

More work with text in cocos-2dx...I think I will die

Working with text in openGL is...**obnoxious**

Because it renders from the bottom up

You can't simply flip it because then the text is upside down

And you can't simply render it from the end because then it won't look natural when the first line ends halfway through

So you need to pull allllll kinds of bullcrap

And now it has to be EDITABLE you say?!

And use a cursor?!

And on top of that, there needs to be lines like a piece of paper

That was bullcrappity enough to do in the native API

Something must be wrong with our fonts because as soon as you type Japanese then the fonts no longer respect the font line height and the text mismatches the lines

We found one font that works OK because it's bat shit crazy and has huge line heights, but that one no longer works in iOS 7

And don't even get me started on Windows, which requires dropping into the ridiculously complex DirectX APIs just to get the damn font information

I assume Android probably just said "fuck fonts" and didn't include this functionality at all

But now I get not only the joy of making a lined text view but also making the entire editable text view from scratch since the one in cocos-2dx is lame

Alright, time to stop thinking about tan lines and start thinking about text lines

There is no multi line editable text control in cocos...so what to do ...hmmm

I'm thinking of setting the number of lines ahead of time to save myself a bunch of headaches

Then I will just have that number of labels inside, and each time the user inputs a letter, I will measure it and add its size to a size map

That will let me have a quick function for calculating where a cursor should go upon click

Then insert that letter into the label and measure its size. If it overflows, then shift the letters into the next line's label

Hopefully my ghetto measurement of "font point size equals line height" will be close enough for a small number of lines

I'm feeling well rested and energized today though so I will tackle this problem, even though only Enrico is here saying anything!

I have recently update a new version of my application and its got rejected as apple said "Your app crashed when we launched it. This occurred when your app was used on Wi-Fi."
