India is dirt cheap for education

government colleges are very cheap

raghav you are forgetting people earning capacity is pretty less

in india

Sure, but at the end of the day it's still extremely cheap in general

It is far easier for someone earning 5k a month to save up 60k, than for someone earning 10k a month to save up 250k

Especially given how expenses differ disproportionately as well

My brother's entire undergraduate degree in India cost less than 1 year of my housing in the US

My current rent is ~$850 a month

So $10.2k/year

If I had stayed with the university housing it would've been ~$12k

Yeah, they calculate tax by taking the paycheck amount, multiplying it by the number of paychecks that year, and then taxing you on that amount

So it looks like we're making ~$120k a year or so

If you had only one or two in the US, and all in the same state, it's pretty easy

MS will send you a W-4 form that states how much tax they cut, and how much you earned total

You just submit that, and one or two more forms, and you'll have your tax recalculated based on that

Whatever extra you were charged will show up in your bank account in April/May
