@Darius I just said you can't use them to handle websockets, you need to write a standalone socket server that understands the websocket protocol, and have this running in the background all the time

I can see the statistics from Mongo shell as

or

How do i view statistics of a database or a collection from PHP and python.

@FabioCosta The reason I ask is because EclipsePDT was very slow for me when typing.. it would take several seconds between typing characters.. it was unbearable. I finally found someone suggesting to turn of white-space chars and it worked

I might be the only one but I'm not crazy about composer ... I find that git submodules fill the same need and you don't need to install a third-party package manager and hope everyone agrees to use it. git's ubiquity makes it by far the best available solution for dependency management, IMHO.
Hello, this is a rather vague question but does anyone know of any common methods for doing this? There are forums which can be run on a low-end server, which can handle thousands of threads. Every time someone views a board it somehow gets a list of all of the threads created in a quick manner, not putting much load on the MySQL. I'm aware there's probably some weird form of optimization behind this. Does anyone know how it's done?
@webarto Do you know if caching is difficult to do from a beginner's perspective? Quite honestly I've been coding most of my PHP off of my Java knowledge since the syntax is quite similar.
@Alec Take a look at APC php.net/manual/pt_BR/book.apc.php i think it is a little complicated for beginners but nothing impossible, also maybe you can make some otimization on the DB layer for cache
@tereško How does it know if there's new information in the DB if it's only returning the cached information? Is it a time refresh like every 60 seconds or does it somehow know?
