In any case, the fact that you aren't supposed to do it on that site doesn't mean somebody else may not want to use it on a different site. @user1690130 I'm not a moderator, but I've flagged it. My flags tend to hit the top of the queue pretty quickly as a rule, though there tend to be relatively few mods around on weekends, so it may still take a little bit.
@Fanael Although "flag weight" isn't (directly) displayed in profiles any more, I suspect a similar situation is still in effect, a flag from a relatively low-rep user with very few accepted flags probably doesn't get attended to very quickly. A typical mod deals with hundreds (like 500 or so) flags a day, so they just about have to prioritize.

@DeadMG There are some gotchas related to undefined widenings with signed/unsigned bitfields, tough; IIRC. It's rather easy to shoot oneself in the foot when using for limited-range arithmetic types

Forgive my terrible terminology, but which type of structure resembles an XML tree, where any node can have any number of subnodes, or subtrees? The goal is a menu, where the menu can have items or another menu with items or menus etc.
And I will be making use of a couple attributes as well. I figured an XML tree can resemble a menu quite nicely.
^ I think that bit got missing from the context in your letter. Yes the question is incontinent, and I loath it's sloppy thinking, but the point is quite simply that it often doesn't matter. In which case, you could argue that JG managed to see the actual question and disregard the brokenness?

@chris erm... trees. You could bake a simple tree for representational purposes with boost recursive variants. I have looked at tree classes in the distant past but I don't recall any particular good one

@DeadMG, I figured it fit a menu's structure pretty well. Better than a formatting string, which was what I started with before it got to the complexity of customizing entire menus and submenus.
I'm not too experienced with this kind of thing. That's a downfall of choosing where you go with the language after not being able to further it in a course.
