well, you're right in that logically, B's constructor should always invoke a move constructor, and then the two constructing lines should invoke a copy constructor or a move constructor on top of that.

I think that GCC in this case clearly has elided the extra move.

I don't believe that is legal but maybe they changed the rules.

one should never write copy or move constructors on the assumption they will or will not be elided.

the Standard's elision rules are way too harsh on implementations and could really do with being relaxed
