Not sure if it was changed recently, but the text (now) in LQA for the "delete" option is quite clear, IMHO: This post cannot be fixed and should be deleted.. Code-only answers can be fixed.
@CodyGray But, if a new user posts (good) code in an answer, but without explanation, what's wrong with a comment encouraging them to add some explanation?

I agree with @AdrianMole here. Leaving a comment for a new user is a good idea. Because people don't read the manual. Even if that upsets the punpkin, that is how people do things. They also don't read the manual on their phones or microwaves.
@CodyGray That's because you get called in when it goes wrong.. nobody raises a custom flag saying "Dear moderator. This post is fine. We had a constructive discussion and we've each deleted all our comment. Have a nice day :)"
or at the very least, an attempt is made to fix the answer. It often entails a link-only answer getting more text around the link. Not always enough, though.
Meh. I guess there will always be an element of subjectivity in the review process. Maybe that's the point? So long as reviews aren't heinously wrong, maybe we should learn to live with the fact that others do things differently from ourselves?

You can only nominate yourself as a candidate during the nomination phase. You'll need at least 3000 reputation, have these badges (Civic Duty, Convention, Deputy, Strunk & White), and cannot have been suspended anywhere on the Stack Exchange network within the past year. You cannot nominate another user.

You cannot vote yet. In the meantime you can read and comment on the candidates' nominations as well as their answers to the questionnaire to find out more about their moderation style. Don't forget to come back in 2 days to also vote in the election's final voting phase!
Although we've got a pretty good set of candidates. I don't know if any of them are scorn-worthy. Fortunately, you can in fact vote for all of them, if you like.
Anyway... The comment by chivracq under Zoe's nomination about her informal language is... odd. I mean, I take the point that is being made. Everywhere but chat (and even there most of the time), I tend to be fairly formal in my wording myself. But wow. This comment is phrased in a nearly incoherent way, and certainly not with any sort of grammatical formality!
but yeah, I don't think I've ever used gonna/wanna in a post... but the manner of the objection is ...well, I'd probably have used fewer Random capital Letters and less creative punctuation if I were critiquing someone's English.

yeah I think pretty much everyone active around late 2019-2020 suffered varying degrees of burns, or burnout in some form. nuclear fallout doesn't clear up in a day
It's good that they're doing things to keep old questions relevant. I would also like to see a little more effort into improving tools to curate the newer content, both manual and automatic
I don't expect to see that anytime soon since that revenue model just doesn't work for a greedy money making corporation
I looked through the upvote summaries of some answers which had populist-ified the accepted answer and I could see an uptick - especially with busier questions

@cs95 I do not. Not even a little bit. If you met me or listened to me speak without knowing where I was from, you'd have no way of knowing. (I mean, you'd surely know "from the US", but you'd have no idea as to geographic region.) This isn't just conjecture; I've tested it widely, with people from many parts of the US.

@Shree I noticed that of the two candidate badges you're missing, one of them is Investor, which is simply awarded for putting a bounty on someone else's question. If you wouldn't mind explaining why you haven't so far done so?

We should know that it is not. Attribution is required on Stack Overflow. If you're putting code in your answers that you didn't write, you have to give credit to the source. Otherwise, it's plagiarism.
Incidentally, plagiarism is something that moderators handle!!

If you have anything in your answers that you didn't write yourself (code or text), then you need to give credit to the original source. Otherwise, those answers risk being deleted and your account being suspended if a moderator ever sees it.
Three required elements: (1) Author's name (if available), (2) Link to original source, (3) Appropriate use of blockquote formatting to indicate all copied content.
Yeah. All answers on SO are licensed under CC by-SA, so you can always use them anywhere, as long as you follow those 3 rules.
