@OakDev while you're not completely wrong, "not eating anything that contains carbs" is not a thing that should be recommended. one can be in ketosis, while still eating almonds, or even bread

being too strict on not eating carbs, can make one say or do suboptimal things like never eating fruits. your body still needs vitamins and minerals.

anyway, it's not a superstitious thing, it does not depend on faith or opinion, one can buy keto sticks, verify their ketones in blood, and make their own mind about what to eat.

when I started, I got paranoid for a few months and would test the ketones three times a day, and note what I eat with the time of the day

you can really infer what has a thoroughly negative or positive effect (on the ketosis)

rice would throw me out for a few days, but I noticed I could eat a slice (or even two if I did sport in a day) of bread in the morning while staying in ketosis
