@YvetteColomb Yeah, a big part was moved to chat, then another person chimed in and opened a chat with me, personally, but has not yet folllowed up on it. The opening from that person was along the lines of "Well, your post bothered me less than those of those other idiots. I'll get back to you."
I wrote a long reply that started with "I don't consider my colleagues idiots." And went through the entire spiel about "You come here for years because of the quality? How do you think we maintain quality - exactly through those things you're complaining about."

It doesn't really work optimally in FF. I tried it out again today (I used it a couple versions ago), it kinda glitched out a lot of features. Especially the "x new comments" while typing a comment (either that or the URL is just relocated somehow and in a way I can disable, in which case I'm just being stupid ^^")

@YvetteColomb I've been wondering what the take of the PTB is/would be on these interactions. Would they stand behind the community? Or undermine us (again)? I know you don't like conspiracy theories, but I almost get the feeling there's something semi-organized going on "out there" that's trying to break the guidelines by exerting continual pressure with these same question, again-and-again-and-again.
I wonder if it doesn't need a statement from the PTB that emphasizes the rules will be enforced... (IF that's true.)

I want to write something up- I think we are due for something. I've been a harsh critic at times of our own community, but at the same time, that doesn't give people a free walk to treat people badly with the caveat "but you are all mean on Stack Overflow" honestly that doesn't wash either

[featured] helps, but it existing lets people link to it (but it also depends on what type of post Yvette has in mind - not all posts are easy to sneak into a relevant discussion)

@YvetteColomb I'm indifferent to whether or not that actual question survives. My only real hope is that some Community Manager sees that and adds this to what is an ever growing list of real hostility towards the power users and curators of the site.

Other than that...meh. It's the same old thing that happens. People flame out or rage quit over their question being closed, and rather than look at why, they instantly think it's the people who closed the question who have the issue. I'm over wringing my hands at that kind of back-and-forth. I'll save my energy for someone who wants to engage.

The difference is night and day - someone said they wanted to be sure their question was as clear as possible and were looking for ways to improve. @SteffX, your remark was one of accusation in that it must be the power users' fault that your question was closed.
To level with you - I just got back from a conference and have a large slide deck to prepare. I have a training coming up tomorrow at 8AM at work. I have several dozen reams of paperwork to finish because I'm a state employee and per diems do not play games. I also have other paperwork to finish not related to any of the above.
It's inequitable to expect me to receive a comment like "power users are lazy" in remarks to wanting to help with your question. That kind of remark makes me want to just not engage.
