1) Our desktop application is huge, like really huge. We can't afford a rewrite in Java/Kotlin/Dart

2) Our application has lots and lots of performance critical code - whose performance can't be guaranteed in Java/Kotlin

I think you have almost direct c++ access via some of the deep graphics libraries

They're like 1:1 mappings

Might be getting confused with some of the native drawing / image stuff rather the OpenGL
