During my interview we discussed A B and C, in the contract I find half of A, some other variant of B, and no mention of C

did they write A, B and C on your offer letter by email?

some, others were discussed over the phone

I sent them like 15 questions at first, and they were like ehhhh let's phone to make this easier to discuss

the rule is to always send a summary email after the call, asking them to confirm

but no worries, it's very common to make them edit the contract and add the things you agreed upon

just don't make the mistake of accepting the contract withe the verbal promise only, write down everything and make them agree on them by email (if they're not able to edit the contract template)
