My plan is to have it where it isn't just for military, but to build a community for anyone who is dealing with depression or suicidal thoughts to rely on.

By using ML+AI you can stimulate the psychiatrist in some great proportion. Of course I am not saying that it will cure depression or anxiety by any means; but this is an open area for R&D

It's hard when you hear that someone you haven't talked to in 3 months hung himself... and when you ask around, no one had checked up on him for just as long.

If this is something you are serious for, it can't be just for U.S. military veterans, but for anyone worldwide.

But we can probably put focus on something close to home first, to gauge the potential of it.

Yeah definitely; it's just hard for me to define the symptoms of depression. But a friend of mine is a psychologist so I believe he could help..

I think the plan for this app isn't to identify depression or give advice to anyone, it'll just be a simple app that just notifies you to check in once a month

It's a concept that come up from a veteran group on facebook

Basically, on the 22nd of every month, you get a notification via app to check in. If in 24 hours you don't, someone from your friend list has to contact you
