the slot/signal mechanism is kinda clean for a UI, but you might not even need it

even rendering controls with Qt is easier than doing low-level stuff with GTK+ or GDI+

I kinda admire the work behind sublime text. It works with plain GDI+ stuff and there's no porting on linux (you have to rewrite stuff yourself with GTK+ IIRC)

I don't find it easy to extend due to this complexity, but it's surely a good work
