Whenever user uses the navigator to find the location when he was on online . The route specified to the user must be saved in the app. When the app is launched by the user , There must be a menu to show the list of items(Address) that were recently searched by the user . When an item is clicked , then it must navigate to the map that is saved along with the route suggested previously to that address even user is offline using google maps.

@gajini saving location with address is not big deal, what tricky part is in your case is saving route between two locations. Start from route,

I have an application where user can add his/her emergency contact. Either he can manually enters it or he can browse it from list of contacts stored in his phone.

The problem is with browsing contact, I need both phone number and email as well.

what if contact doesn't contain any email/phone number?

It's possible that you this overrides each other... you should be able to get both when reading the contentprovider

that depends on your actual usecase however you create an adapter e.g. like in the question and put it to the alertdialog.builder and open it (like in the answer)
