@Catija as I already mentioned, having responses with blanks is better than having none at all (because users that value integrity of the data they provide simply give up mid-flight) or misrepresented (because users were pressured into giving the answer regardless)

the definition of "useful" survey response is not "fully filled in" but "representing the respondent". Any methodology that values former over the latter is flawed.

Thanks again. I'm aware it's accepted - I've taken the PasteBin suggestion from what other mods have said. The char limit is still frustrating. Also annoying that clicking outside the modal closes the modal and wipes your flag text. Which happened to me. Twice. Twice for this flag.

I have an extension that saves text in text areas partly for situations like these. It's still not great, though.

@CodyGray Not sure. Mine is a Firefox extension called "Textarea Cache". Not sure what extensions are available on Chrome.

There used to be an extension called Lazarus for both Chrome and Firefox. Regrettably, the development for it was abandoned and at some point reworks in the extension systems of both browsers made it stop working in total. I've tried a few other extensions since then. It's been years none of them actually match up with Lazarus in terms of ease of use and features.

Here is an example: Textarea Cache hangs all instances of the browser for maybe 10-15 seconds when you try to recover something. Since it's decrypting the entire database it keeps of stored text. It's...quite inconvenient.

joking aside, Feeds themselves are dummy chat users with ids in the negative range that are basically bots that post feed items when new come in

room owners can create and change what feeds will be posted in a given room

the main issue many of us have with SE is its disregard to its core userbase

once it's no longer valuable, a feature is thrown under the bus

our devs cost too much to maintain a calendar? no calendar for you (in fairness, we managed to argue it back it seems)

our devs are too busy tweaking the design no one asked for? say goodbye for the unsticky header preference

Jobs do not bring in enough to justify its existence to stakeholders? Bye-bye

our shareholders are concerned they get bad reputation for associating with us? Say hello to "unfriendliness" purges and features
