Does anyone know why the quarter reputation can exceed the actual maximum reputation on any given day, including adding any lost reputation for that day?

@Scratte the only thing which adheres to the daily 200 rep cap is upvotes. Accepts, bounties (and the association bonus) are exempted.

So people who answer a lot, check Gordon Linoff's profile, regularly go to about 400 rep a day

Sorry, I must have expressed myself ambivalently. I looked at my own and it says: Total 933, quarter: 935. It strikes me as odd. At no point have I come close to the cap of 200.

the added -1+32 from yesterday doesn't seem to account for the difference of two, even if the negatives were added later than the positives.

Looking at my very first post, which I thought might have skewed it a bit, there was a +10-2 in that order. I figured the -2 would have been left out of the quarter if the starting point resulted in -1

I think I worked it out :)
