I'm looking for a term from image processing: In german there is the term "Punktoperator" (literally point operator) that is used for functions that transform an image by applying a function pixel wise. So pixel value of each output is just dependent of the pixel values of the input. Is there a similar term in english? I couldn't find any good translation, and it seems "point operator" isn't really used.

I've seen it very different ways

some people define a function on the whole image with a kronecker delta

some people call it elementwise

Im sure I have seen it in some other ways

some people just say "pixel by pixel"

depends how deep into the maths are :D

@flawr I've used pixel-wise or per-pixel in my work

mathematically speaking, it's a function R^n -> R^n, such that [f(v)]_i = f^tilde(v_i), which doesn't sound like something that has a name
