@AndrasDeak I've found [this solution](stackoverflow.com/q/13648774/5211833); to get year/month/day out of a numpy datetime64 object. Is there a way to get it in either Day Of Year (DOY) or decimal days since whenever, like MATLAB's datenum?

@Adriaan is your use case just dates, or full datetimes?
The days in that answer seems like "days since whenever", except not decimal. So I suspect the question is unclear.
