Facing one Algorithmic prob :I have this datatable which has got multiple rows containing information about RequestDetails , including the recipients.
Now in that case , One request may have multiple recipients , so the request comes in multiple rows from the db,
What i want to do is that i have a Entity on the service layer , which has got data as
RequestDetails
	RequestId,
	RequestName,
	ETC...
	RecipientsDetails (a List of recipient details.)
		RecipientName
		RecipientOffice
		ETC...

So i want to strip the data that way that the common details to be populated in the RequestDetails , an…

no i have included sql server 2005 express edition as a prereuisites

to it installs it before installation

i dont know which instance it use ..when it installs it as a prerequisite

i run a sql script ..at the time of installation for the default databse

so at the first time of login to app

it takes the credentials from databse

but it says you dont have administrative privilages to alter database

as you explain it you are not altering the database when you start the application, right?

Linq-2-sql or EF could load everithing correctly

if you use some custom loading, you'll need to do everything yourself

maybe 2 calls to the database should be used, if there are lots of requests, and only several recipients

(one to get requests, one to get recipients)

The issue is that this is sort of legacy code , and i cant change it to use EF , or linq to sql

coz that will save one round trip

Yeah have done that ... But that converts it to a data row collection , and linq is not able to query the whole collection i.e. No First() or Single() sorts

you could try DataTable.Select()

that will return a DataRow[] that is perfectly linq-able

you can handle stuff bigger then 260 chars, there is a MS opensource library for that on codeplex I think

the compleat path length is limited to 260

The file system can support 32k long filenames, but some applications might fail, so i'd stick with the 260 if possible
