This means that if you have a numeric value like 1460279626, calculating the time for it is a matter of adding <x> seconds to the Epoch Base time. I've written code to that effect in any number of projects. Finally, in 2015, it's a part of the .NET framework.

@misha130 Oh, that won't be a problem. PDFs have been displayed inside the browser for years. In any half-decent browser it won't be a problem.

@TomW I know python is made for data analysis, never heard of cobol, so i tried to ask you about them while i was googling for them. I found a comparison between python, R and cobol in their codes, and cobol was just ... it was too much :p

@ElieSaad yeah cobol is old as shit and still runs the most fundamental parts of some old organisations like banks because they're too afraid to replace it

Very difficult to get hold of cobol programmers to maintain it

More than likely nobody understands all the business rules and system integrations; how could they possibly replace it if they can't write a specification for the replacement

I guess because people asking that question more often just want a persistence store for a local app. If they're looking at a distributed architecture they tend to have already made up their mind or had it chosen for them

Postgres is also popular, though I haven't really used that either.

Both newSquare and originalSquare are of type SquareType**. Why are you using pointer-arithmetic-syntax to find values on one, and array-syntax to set on the other?

Wouldn't newSquare[i][j] = originalSquare[i][j] work?

@TomW I think it's a combination of "I don't get paid enough to care" coupled with "English isn't my first, or indeed last language".

A subset of #1 is "The cake shop pays me for quantity, not quality. If I stop and try to contact the customer for details, I can only get X cakes done, meaning less money".
