I'm learning about logging in via a website. I've got the basics, in that we can set a cookie to authorise the user so they can access various things(pages/content etc). My question is more about the database and what is stored in it. I guess we don't want to store the 'real' password but an encrypted version?
Is there a standard approach for this, or is it varied based upon situation?
