@πάνταῥεῖ Well, it would be better the 1 is just a way of saturation for privs, etc. but internally the rep would be calculated according to all votes, i.e. could become negative (maybe saturated at -2 147 483 648).

@toohonestforthissite No, they won't. Rep addition/subtraction is calculated as soon as someone votes, and if no rep can be subtracted that's the end of it. DVs of course still influence the roomba and Q ban, so they are not wasted as such, but they do not influence reputation on 1 rep accounts indeed

@ErikvonAsmuth I does take the rep of ousers who have some. Insofar it's an asymmetry; most users, inlcuding long-term have only 1 rep; what does that say? Rep is the way to let users know they don't provide good posts. If you call this punishment, so be it, b ut I call this an indicator for other users to judge the overal quality of a user's posts. Not as the only criterion, but combined with how long he is on this site, how many posts, etc.

@halfer Well, that "all degrees was me trying a pun actually. The headlines and subtitles are kinda bold, the rest is bold. I'm not sure, but afaik there is a similar English Magazine - "The Sun"? (not sure which one). It#s all about reaching the taste of the masses. Short sentences, simple words, no complicated context, simple conclusions, don't even try to make the reader think on his own.

And event the self proclaimed "high quality" papers/magazines now often have a lot of badly researched articles now. But that's a global phenomenon.

@MichaelDodd Thanks, for the link. I didn't remember the name, but I remember the breakdown and fatal decissions were reported on German TV quite detailed. IIRC there were also discussions about the safety in German stadions (they became "Arenas" (sic, uppercase) much later).

@EpicKip hey @PatrickHofman by the looks of it you answered an obvious dupe. if we want to roomba it you might have to delete that answer. That also helps to make you a bit lower in rep so it becomes more okay to answer dupes (when >10K it is for some reason a sin) (all jokes ofc.)
