@Justin That's not so much because of the quirks, but because you concentrate on them. This builds a mental block for learning and seeing the whole picture. As I said, I use QT qith PySide, so I don't care about allocation/release anyway. That is a normal human reaction and one which keeps us from learning. I know this very well. TBH, the only programming language which gives me almost no such block is/has been Python. All others (there were some) at some point frustrated me heavily.
@rene sorry - I didn't mean to confuse your question. Thought I'd try a little experiment and see if there was any reaction such as "bah! Why should we close it as a dupe - there's already enough of those re: that - it'd be better off rejected" kind of thing...
@JonClements no problem, I think linking to the timeline made clear what happened and it might help for people to judge if what I ask for is an better outcome. If it gets deleted (what is the best imo) I'll add a screenshot.
@rene, Im human so I'm wrong by design. I didn't knew there we a such answer with this quality to this question. At first I commented "Zalgo is comming" then edited it because I was pretty sure someone won't understand it. Call for close on chat was a call for close as I don't know how to interact with Firearlam bot.
Thanks for the link to this cool answer now I will flag duplicate on this question for those Zalgo. I'm not a fan of php tag but I still have some love for the regex one. Do not blame me If i fail to educated a user that fail to find a duplicate linking to zalgo (it must be at least 5% of php total question)
I wounder if I did right, I rasied a custom mod flag on this stackoverflow.com/a/18143654/5292302, since it has copied code without attribution from this (stackoverflow.com/a/9613729/5292302), actually it could easily me edited in, however it actually answers the other question (add 1 day), not (add 1 month), hence in the end it ends up being a copy of an answer to another question. Maybe 20K delete votes would be better? but how the heck can I gather enough votes (meta)?

hence I would have edited, but since it's an answer to that other question, I mod flagged it and only left a comment on question.... it's just strange "How to add a month?", I answer how to add a days, coping answer from question "How to add days?"
If it did not have all those upvotes, the problem would have been less obvious...
@DragandDrop Yeah it's a collection of stuff on how to add 1 day, from "How to add 1 day?" questions on the "How to add 1 month?", now yes they could be seen as related (that's probably why it got all those upvotes), but heck it's just crazy... if we start to quote the answers on the other.... if so it should be closed as duplicate.., That however is not correct (since month not always have same number of days :D)
What do you think?, should I retract mod flag and go to meta? or leave the mod flag (they will probably choose just to add attribution if they don't have domain knowledge and are checking all answer). I feel rather strongly that it's incorrect and should be deleted, hence it feels incorrect to mod, letting them add attribution and then I still like it to get delete.
I've read over them a few times @PetterFriberg and I wouldn't be able to make a choice either way. Meta does seem like the appropriate place though to get a community consensus.
@PetterFriberg I'd seen you'd debated it here and read your flag. Have to admit - wasn't entirely sure what you were trying to say - so left it. Good thing about meta is at least you'll have more room to explain it :)

@PatrickHofman, I always assume the worst. For me the dupe you linked and the alternate solution in the answer are close dupe. But Im often wrong. As his solution was already on the question he linked but was not a highly voted solution he posted a new version of it on this one because it will have less competition. Not for the rep but for the visibility.

@NathanOliver As this is very specific and really a lot of RAM for a single process, I'd opt for closing it, but maybe someone else wants to add an opinion :)
@ColdFire The nomination phase is where you can comment, the primary phase is where you get to up, down, or not vote on each candidate. The election phase is where you pick your 3 choices.

Deep fried mars bar for those who don't recognise this culinary classic. Sorry to stereotype our northern brothers but deep fried [insert anything] is a food group north of the wall
@EdChum Pizza is good, mars bars is meh, pie is EXCELLENT, never tried maltesers. A Chinese near me does battered salt-and-chilli chips (as in... potatoes...) and that is outrageously and bafflingly delicious.
@JackParkinson try salt and pepper squid or prawns in a Chinese restaurant, they should be lightly battered. Also I've tried deep fried shrimp covered in shrimp eggs, really moreish, not available in the western hemisphere. People should realise that deep frying stuff in batter is just marketing, when the Japanese do it, it's called tempura and costs twenty quid, when the scots do it, it's seen as uncivilized
I tried a Scotch Egg in Japan, it tasted nothing like a British one, it was healthier. Also Scotch eggs aren't Scottish en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotch_egg
Crispy aromatic Duck doesn't exist in Hong Kong or China, Peking Duck does. It's served as a 3 course meal, skin only first with sauce, meat by itself and the bones make a soup
The other useless food trivia I know of is that most "wasabi" sauce in the UK isn't actually wasabi and it's pretty much something you need to have fresh there and then... so it's actually slightly dyed british horseradish instead...
@JonClements to be honest it's mostly the same in Japan, it's for practical reasons more than anything, fresh wasabi grated using a sharks fin implement that looks like a table tennis bat for tiny people is no where near as hot as the stuff that is dished out. The oxidation is what generates the heat
@AshishAhuja have to careful with these wasabi flavoured snacks, if you see something that is genuninely from Japan there's a higher chance it will actually contain wasabi and that it will taste nice.
