We have been using this question as a floating point dupe for MATLAB for quite a while, and we're discussing with the accepted answer's owner to add some more information in. The four lower answers, so everything except the accepted and the +16 one with FORTRAN link, are not really answers at all, more like comments nowadays.

When we are cleaning this canonical up, is it accepted to flag the other answers for deletion, as they are basically noise with no added info to the first two answers?

@Sami any answer of your question requires manipulating object DACLs within windows using winapi functions. These are OS (windows) specific things, hence the method is language independent. The duplicate topic explains how to do these - it just happens to use C++, not Delphi. All the function calls and data structures are from winapi, you can use them from Delphi as well.

Can we close these C questions like "why does the value not change?" (modifying a local variable and expecting the caller to see it)? Those askers did not undestand the most basic programming concept.

Amazon just suggested to me that I should review some fire extinguishers that I bought recently. It doesn't seem right to me to write a review until I actually have to use one of them in a fire.
