when you login with fb you get a short lived access token (2h or so iirc), if you aren't going to be running crons and such after the user logs out i d go with the js sdk since it handles token renewal on it's own, if you are then you ll have setExtendedAccessToken() before saving it in your db. With the access token you also get the user's basic info (depending on the scopes you set)

In order to handle the sessions i d go with the facebook user id

but how good is Cufon in regards of user-friendliness and semantics?

since I noticed selecting/copying text isn't the same

Cufon does not affect SEO at all. Its rendering engine is written in Javascript, and search engines don't read Javascript.

The code snippet you posted is what HTML looks like in your browser after Cufon has done its job; the search engines will only see your original html (the one you view when you click on View > Page Source in Firefox for instance).

if we sell a website for €300, we can't pay €100 for each font in it

the fonts usually cost almost the same price as the entire webdesign...

same for stock pictures x.x (luckily I always find free alternatives for this)
