you can change value of both

difference is that browsers that don't support CSS (like screen readers?) may not know that the latter is actually an hidden field

- one just allows reading contents -> FooView
- one just allows replacing existing contents -> FooReplaceableContents??? :S
- one just allows adding new contents -> FooLoadable
- one just allows deleting existing contents -> FooUnloadable
- one allows both replacing existing contents and adding new ones -> FooOverloadable???
- one allow all of the above -> FooReadWrite

trying to keep the names as short as possible

@StephanMuller given a context, always style h1->h6 the same:
main > article :any(h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6) {font-size:30px;}
main > article :any(section,article,...) :any(h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6) {font-size:24px;}
main > article :any(section,article,...) :any(section,article,...) :any(h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6) {font-size:18px;}
then only in the markup decide what tag to use

in html5 you should be using only h1, the only reason we use h2-h6 is for seo (and for sub-headings, which most likely are sub-sections titles instead)

On a smaller scale your solution would work well, but on a bigger site I'd much rather resort to using classes for different types of blocks/sections/etc and style based on that

so h2+ is mostly for seo these days imho. i don't have proof/just telling you what i've read in the past about html4 AT

in fact iirc some of them use a totally different approach for understanding the "outline", checking the css font size rather than the <hN>
