Honestly, it lacks priority. Select files steals focus from drag and drop. Also name / size seems like is only related to the select files. I presume it is populated on both actions.

isn't it usually a good idea to keep a front page simple instead of overloading it with lots of stuff?

well it'll be a personal site - but i think blog style is not really helpful. i've seen many people use wordpress for this but the posts are usually 1-2 lines of text and then a gallery... and searching specific stuff is hard

getting in with press credentials is fine but if a band asks you you usually get more privileges like backstage access and more than the first three songs in the pit - but right now my photos are only on the website of my magazine so there's no easy way to see who's behind them

for example, some girl i know also just does it as a hobby and asked the organizers of a somewhat big festival if she can get credentials anyway.. they told her it's usually hard for non-press but they still need some people for their own photo crew... so in the end she had an crew/AAA pass there

that's actually one of the things i really wanted to have: galleries where you can easily see all photos in a decenr size without torturing your mouse or waiting for a slideshow to go through them

$4 and the code had a few WTFs (leaking globals, semicolons after blocks) but besides that it's pretty ok and works fine (and unlike most other masonry scripts i looked at it properly handles images with different sizes)

@mikedidthis hm... i'm not sure if i always keep the "newest photos" at 3 or add more in case there are more recent ones (e.g. all photos from within 2 weeks OR 3 if there are none matching that criterium [sometimes i don't have new ones for some months])... that way people would have to scroll to get to the text even on a big screen

i did the design for rockyou.fm (the web magazine/radio me and a friend run) a year ago but luckily i had a lot of feedback from others when doing it (and i'd say it still isn't perfect)

serif font? interesting.. i'm using a sans-serif one. unless i forgot a css rule for that and it's just my browser's default or i'm using a windows-only font and you are not using windows :o

font-family: Helvetica,sans-serif - shouldn't use a serif font ever unless you don't have a sans-serif one available (or do you mean for the headings?)
