Hi, I'm actually working on an instagram-like Android app.So i have some questions about how things must be done on the client and server side and what are the best patterns, architectures to consider.So i hope that i will get a clear and detailled answer for the following questions.

On the client side:

Is there a background service or task that is checking perdiodicaly for new photos ?

Does the client side get and send data to an API ?

Is the client side authenticated to the API/backend via token and Oauth?
