And you cannot use ViewGroup directly. You can extend your class to viewgroup and then use it into xml.

ok let me explain

There I used: Object instantiateItem (View container,
int position)

Here container is the parent i.e ViewPager here.

Since it is a view object, I needed to cast it to use addView function (basically it is a ViewGroup, but this function used to return it as View)

Now it is deprecated and there is another function
