eh, there's some flaw in our system that i haven't been able to track down that causes it to stop responding to requests with no errors or info in logs. It anywhere from 0-1 times per month. I call it cfml

1:100 clients are reporting errors I cannot solve/track down

3 in the past two weeks.

1 I was able to at least identify the problem (the require one)

but not what caused it

they are inconsistent consistent errors (if that makes sense)

are you not able to get stacktraces for them? i know that's difficult it being client-side and all

trying to determine how a process failed by looking at how other things are affected

@ssube device runs fine for 0-2hours, then stops communicating. when it stops the entire network locks. IF they remove the device, the network stops being stupid, so I told them to check with their isp. They did a remote update on their modem (line of sight tower) and now it no longer locks the network. but still stops communications.

their isp swears up and down they are not killing the ssh connection

my server sees it being terminated from the client

that's all I have to work with right now

is the node process crashing for any of these?

or shutting down with errors?

imagine you can look at a rpi and check blinking lights. that's all I have

if not, that might be the first change to make, at least get you some exit-time logs

one is cellular modem, another is line of sight satellite tower going back to their isp who is doing god knows what, another the isp is borrowing their tower for a T1 connection for the town, then giving him a free line

if the client connection is dead for a few minutes I check if there is still a proc, kill it, verify it is dead, then re-issue the ssh command.
