Yes, a lot of algorithms have a chance to parallel a step in them, those steps will be provided by optional callbacks that default to running sequentially - those callbacks will probably do something akin to MapReduce - send each batch to a different machine or something like that.

I believe typed arrays are designed (optimized?) for operations on the data and buffers are for things like network/file buffers

@copy Buffers are just handles to malloc calls. Emscripten runs in browsers so it can't use node Buffers by default.
Buffers are unsafe, you can turn off bounds checking for example in buffers to get more speed.

@BenjaminGruenbaum I don't think the allocation is not going to be a huge factor (for instance if load or store on Buffers is more expensive, that should have a bigger impact)

@copy load and store are just assignments to memory location but you're absolutely right the correct way to resolve it is a benchmark
