I am trying to get the functioning of this tutorial to be responsive and I am failing at it, mainly because nothing I am playing around with is helping me change what I need to...

jsfiddle.net/u5fn6w0b - the content boxes (with names and text) should not appear when the bottles are not clicked. However, because the original tutorial was not intending to be responsive that worked fine, however I am working with % positions etc..

I am trying to hide it when none are clicked and show the one that is clicked..but nothing I am changing seems to be working with it

I can't figure out their aversion to it

We just started a project recently, from scratch, and bootstrap wasn't even considered.

We specifically have issues with consistency with regard to design elements

I've mostly seen it used by people who don't know CSS

I guess that's a fair perspective.

It's just extra baggage, CSS/HTML is easy anyway

I look at it more as a way to structure idiomatic CSS

Plus, our product/design team aren't CSS masters

How so? It's non-semantic CSS for expressing constraints in a way easier to do with native usually

I'd use it if I was a web shop and I make hundreds of projects

For a single, or <10 sites I think it's mostly cruft

I think it's even more suitable for a complex application, honestly. If I don't have to think about what a button looks like, I can focus on the important stuff.

So there's a major frontend refactor coming in shortly. Now taking bets on how many regressions there will be.

We don't have an established process for reusing HTML/CSS efficiently

TBH I find HTML/CSS to be such a small part of the dev process that changes so frequently that it's not a big deal

One person does most of the design, but the front end devs (6 of us) sometimes roll our own styles for things that haven't been fully fleshed out. We've got a modified agile process

you're never actually running said function (in that snippet)

groups gets invoked through angular

through {{ groups }}

again, you're not calling the function there.

@BenjaminGruenbaum interesting but i havent used ajax since last year... im now involved in a little project using an html table and moving image backgrounds through the table cells "simulating movements with some delay".

I ended up with this inside some messy code which apparently works for one cell but not for more than one jsfiddle.net/329kLean/2
