I just tried an AR API (MAXST) with a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. There is a simple tutorial package for Unity, where you can create an app within few minutes. The app has a button that spawns a cube in the room. The result does not exceed my expectations, to say the least. The cube's distance to the floor is varying, the cube is not staying where I placed it when I move in the room, and sometimes it just comes closer to the camera if I wiggle the phone a little. Why does it suck so badly?

Is it me, the phone, the api, or all of three? Is there a phone and API where this does not happen, or are my expectations too high?

I try to emphasize things that mainstream developers might use but may not get quite as much attention, because they are buried in the JavaDocs.
