Hello there,

A quick question, i can't for the sake of me, find a way to reuse a fragment instead of create a new one inside a ViewPager2Adapter.

Did any of you know where i can find info about it?

I have one activity with a topbar and a navbar

this ones use fragments, one of which is where i'm using the ViewPager2

the thing is, as of today, i can't find a way to use, for instance, replace instead of inflate in the constructor adapter.

this generates two problems:
1) i do have duplication of fragments (with all the other problems that generates)
2) i can't deactivate, clean it, remove it, or similar like i do with the others (replace them)

Or maybie i can but i stil can't find how

So, it happend than i have a fragment two times active because, one is on the regular flux, the other is because of the viewpager and i can't deactivate the last one.

the adapter who use the ViewPager2, as you can see in the picture

i think than the solution is linked to somehow remove that layoutinflater and change it for a replace or something than allow me to change the thing on the activity, for instance, or something like that.

Like making all those fragments a part of the same group of fragments, if that makes sence.

I have several fragments on a single activity than are displayed through topbar and navbar, i want one of this fragments to being able to work with swipes.

Which actually right now it does, i did this implementation using a ViewPager2 but it generates this other problems than i'm now trying to solve.

what other problems?

I'm very available for the idea to replace that ViewPager2 if it's necesary and i can achieve what i need with the new implementation

As you can see, the components are duplicated, this is because the fragment inside the adapter is being created from scratch, inflated, not replacing others like the topbar and navbar are.

network request cannot be done on the main thread, and the showing of the image must be done on the main thread, that leaves the decoding of the network data in between which I want to say glide internally does on another thread

just comment out the glide lines and see if it still lags

you may have used FragmentPagerAdapter or FragmentStatePagerAdapter, slight difference

you may be missing "new" and instead using the old fragments

@user57129 if you are using recycleview, you don't replace fragments, you make changes to list that adapter is using (add remove changeatindex cheeseStrings) and notifydatasetchanged
