yes, so you mean a "desktop" (GUI software for the OS) not "monitor" (physical screen)

Ubuntu server doesn't come with a desktop environment by default, as opposed to Ubuntu Desktop which does

my understanding is that ubuntu core is just a small ubuntu with a focus on security and adapted for small iot devices
