I don't think there's a way to get the permission without Settings, and more concerning, that activity isn't always available according to the docs. "In some cases, a matching Activity may not exist, so ensure you safeguard against this."
Not sure how you can safeguard against this if your app is largely useless without the permission

they might mean that while it is expected to be at a certain 'path', manufacturers can place it elsewhere, or have this permission setting in a different activity. So you might have to fall back to giving the user instructions like "grant permission X which should be located here and there in your settings app"

@Mehdi Yeah not as much.. my favourite one is Hinge as it's a nice mix between the ease and convenience of tinder, with some of the more serious features/users of real online dating platforms
I find that girls I'm attracted to typically don't want to spend the time and effort of making a detailed dating profile on those other sites OkCupid, Match, etc, and gravitate towards tinder because it's just way quicker to make and way less investment
So this Hinge one is nice because I still get a bunch of girls like that, but they're also taking it a bit more seriously and looking for boyfriends not just flings
makes sense though, if I was a hot girl and I got like a 99% match rate off of just having 1 picture and no profile, why even bother putting in the effort, right?

I feel like I'm able to multitask really well, and the insane focus of the hyper-focus aspect of it can be really really handy in high-pressure tight-deadline situations . But then you get the other side where you can't focus in the other 99% of tasks you're doing, anxiety because you feel like you should be doing something constantly, stuff like that

I hated it though, and now I'm on an SNRI that helps me heaps

It was nice because I could focus and be super productive.. but I ended up getting really jittery, and I had bad circulation - I felt cold constantly, and it was horrible for my anxiety
and the feeling of being high on stimulants all day wasn't nice at all. I kept lowering my dose on them but I was at the "lowest" and still felt that way
Once I graduated university I ended up quitting those

they do for sure, they were actually pretty sketchy at the pharmacies about them
I had to show government ID every time, and I could only get 30 of them per month no exceptions, and there were a bunch of other rules to it
they are/were considered a narcotic and you could go to jail for selling them to your friends and what not
the ones I'm on now have been a godsend for me lol it's really hard to find meds when you're comorbid on anxiety and ADHD
usually treating one will worsen the other

This puppy I'm on though actually eliminated my anxiety almost all together and I get probably a 35-45% improvement with my adhd
the big negatives of this drug though are my hangovers are brutal, and withdrawl off the meds is suuuuper bad

but most stuff is focused around kids, and I think that centre focuses on that

Such as talking to Android nerds in chatrooms rather than getting AS4 to work

I also had zero short term memory when I took that stuff and drank, I remember a night where i forgot some girl's name like 10 times and she started getting super angry
