The funny thing about Stadia is that no one really seems to notice that it really has nothing to do with video games and Google is building the foundation of how all devices will work in the future. 🤷♂️
@MehdiB. hmmm I'm not sure if we're talking about the same things. In general I consider my hard-drive crashing to be MUCH bigger risk than some psychotic Google employee gaining too much access and going on an identity theft rampage.
Plus all your important data (SSN, etc) is already out there on servers that have been historically notorious for poor security such as health care services, credit reporting services, etc.

But seriously, does anyone have any practical advice on how to deal with the automated tests that run on Android? I don't really want them constantly creating accounts and doing random stuff in my production app. lol
@twiz We are really laid back. There's just certain things we won't tolerate and even with those we probably give people too much slack before banning them
@twiz so you have an app, and when you upload it, the Play Store is running like.. MonkeyRunner on it, and then it's creating a handful of accounts with garbage names, and you're concerned about this?
@CarlAnderson Basically, but also it doesn't actually do anything in my app after that. It's kind of weird. I guess it's not a big deal to have random accounts like that, but I figured maybe there's a better way I should be dealing with it.
I mean.. if it really troubles you, you could send a test build or something to TestLab that either points to your test servers, or you could add a flag to the account creation process where those accounts get flagged for deletion
but then you're not "testing in production" with that service
Right, I'm basically confused on best practices. It makes sense to test in production, but I'm not sure how to do cleanup with that and have minimal effects on actual users seeing any info they might submit.
I am a little confused about it, since it seems like they're giving me TestLab time for free. I'm a little suspicious that they will start charging me without mentioning it. haha
But yea, I think I agree that I'm probably just overthinking things for the moment.
