At our place anyone can do a PR, but it has to be thumbed before it get's merged, also core and unit tests have to pass, and jenkins is linked to github so tests run automatically on PRs.
I kindo f just blew up at work at two guys about massive PRs and just thumbing shit, so I wantto make sure I am not some kind of a code quality nazi.
Story time: Guy works on a feature and then yesterday creates a PR, 1600+ 30- changes and asks me if I could review it, so I start add 30 comments he addresses them, then I say I don't have time for this I have other stuff I have to work on so I ask for help, give it to one engineer I can trust and he gives it to another. The engineer I can trust gets back to ma and tells me that the other one already thumbed it. Whole 4 minutes after it wasposted.
So I jumped it and labeled it as DO-NOT-MERGE and kind of lashed out at the guy who just thumbed it essentially.

Node.js is trash, JavaScript is a bad programming language, it's a dead end when we've moved towards systems with many cores, and it has no place in systems development.
