my bestman/best friend lives there with another friend of mine and we had cancelled some tickets for christmas so we're using the credit to take a little vacation in Chicago

I've only been to illinois once and I was like 8 and I only really saw my grandma's house

so it'll be fun to hang out downtown and such

So... I got my external display at work to connect

Apple might get some stuff right, but displays aren't one of them

If I don't follow a very specific ritual of setting the display settings to something, then unplugging the display, plugging in the cable to my laptop, and then plugging the display back into power, it won't work

More specifically, in that case the display is detected, but no image shows up
