My Windows 10 volume control just got confused

It was at volume 0 instead of being muted

@d0n.key Assuming volume 0 is the same as being muted is a leaky abstraction

If you unmute, the previous volume gets restored, whereas boosting the volume when it is 0 means it is slightly higher than 0

My guess is a lot of problems involving the mute button derive from this simple leaky abstraction

If you see 0 as everything below 1 or 0.5, without being muted, it would be quite misleading. Also I got my laptop at work muted at all times, and as I restarted it because of some Windows Update, the volume got messed up from muted to 0 (with all volume bars greyed out, at 1 there's one white bar, but there were none)

ideally you'd be dealing with percentages

since you couldn't really know otherwise the max volume or how loud that is to the user

ideally you'd be dealing with max-dB's of normalized sound playback

But that would require Windows to know your hardware output capabilities

I suppose it can get rather complicated

It has to do with the type of earth under the lake I think

If the lake remains untouched for long periods of time, someone getting in that lake could risk that the gases are released suddenly and explosively

so they actually have to continually bubble up water in the lake so that it keeps the water "disturbed" and in movement

so basically like a massive fart

I am working on a homework for conflict management and we have to describe escalation of a conflict along a certain pattern. Last step is that both parties lose by one destroying the other and as reaction to that they go down as well. One of the parties is the CEO of the company and the other one is an employee with Prokura and daughter of the Gesellschafter.

Now I need a way for both of them to ruin each other. CEO can kick the employee, that's simple but I don't know the other way.
