and the username and password is like "admin:admin@123$"
username is like : "admin" and password is : "admin@123$" and once i create URL it looks like "ftp://admin:admin@[email protected]/path/to/file".
and getUserInfo() should print something like "admin:admin@123$" as in devloper doc but for me it prints "admin:admin". and also if i remove @ from password it prints "admin:admin123$"
and i am very sure that its because of @ in passwd..
the same code works fine for other username and passwd
So its confirm that issue with special characters with parameter values.
now as you say you are using this ?

As per your code
String password= txtpassword.getText().toString(); String txtpass= URLEncoder.encode(password, "utf-8"); Now you need to pass this txtpass to your webservice.
