@PetterFriberg @FrankerZ What's the purpose of having Queen report confirmed heated comments in SOCVR? I'm unsure what we are supposed to do in response to such reports. At least the vast majority of times (almost all?; all?; not sure) by the time it's reported in SOCVR, the comment is deleted, which results in nothing to do in response to the report. My understanding was that in at least a significant number of cases a single red-flag was sufficient for deletion (when match system-level regex).

@Makyen SOCVR has not the purpose to give feedback to heat comments, the only purpose is to nuke certain comments quick (hoping to end mess) as for spam. 90% of comments are handled in this room but when the room feels it need support from it's brother privilege user can send it (it's a request for help). To nuke comments you need x (1-5) amount of flags depending on content and upvotez

@Makyen When one flag is not enough to signal a deletion (I had already flagged it), it's good to get it under more eyes to that it's deleted quickly

It all as a historical reason, users that created this room, me Sam, Tuna, BR etc where all SOCVR peeps..

@PetterFriberg Nah. As long as there is something productive that SOCVR members can do about it, I'm good with it. It must be that I've just been slow in bringing up the page. I also don't have anything which indicates that the comment no longer exists, so I tend to click through to them (I've added checking and displaying such status to my to-do list). As you've mentioned, I'm going to assume that either the number of flags needed tends to be low, or I'm just slow.

well my point kinda is spam wont happen through comments because they take a ton of rep to add and when it's rude chances are the situation will go south faster than you can even type a command

@LW001 sometimes removing comnents before user to who it is directed is very useful... The user will never see it ;)

@PetterFriberg I agree, we are working towards the same goals. My only issue was that I was repeatedly clicking through to the comment, only to find nothing. This is even more counter-expectation with >10k rep, as you get used to seeing questions/answers which are obviously deleted/handled (i.e. explicit confirmation, rather than implicit). With deleted comments, you're just left at the top of the page/post with only implicit confirmation that the situation is handled.

maybe when its in socvr check whether it still exists every now and again and just add (handled) after it or sth and wait for someone to bin it

@PetterFriberg IMO, the ball is in my court to have something which dynamically indicates that the comment still exists, prior to clicking through.

@Makyen I understand not sure what a solution can be, it's similar as clicking a spam report when you are less then <10k. For sure it's not passed if already deleted. We are building a web dashboard soon, but again it will only show what it was.. The only advice I can give is when I pass to SOCVR it's often something worth monitoring normally OP gone mad. Hence they insists in passing rude stuff

FYI: I recently changed the RO archiver script such that Queen reports are archived after 30 minutes (note that an RO has to manually run the script, so 30 minutes is merely a minimum, unless the RO manually selects it). However, currently no check is done as to the comment still existing (to either prolong it staying in the transcript, or move it early). I'm happy to adjust the time-frame, if you feel some other amount of time is desirable. Actually checking for existence is more work/on to-do.

I confirm. Sometimes following a comment listed here ends up in void, but I am right in time to watch the next rudeness being piled onto the deleted heap.

You could probably make it 5 minutes. The comment is most certainly deleted by then.

@FrankerZ I appreciate the offer. At the moment, I'd rather not do that. The archiver script is still a bit of a hash of convoluted code that's grown as the requirements have changed. I've been working on re-writting it to be more modular. The portion which performs such checks is not quite in the state that I'm wanting to hand it off. To be honest, given that the script is manually run whenever it is that an RO thinks it's needed, I'm OK with just the time-check for now.

30 minutes is more than enough time for it to clear out. When it's ready to be handed off, lmk and I can assist
