Are there any more details about this? 3v4l.org/sj7Rq (global constant as an enum case value allowed since 8.2) Not a word about this in the UPGRADING document for PHP 8.2.

@OndřejMirtes no idea....but also surprised that it didn't work before 8.2, as it is compile-time evaluatable. So maybe it was a bug fix?

They cannot reference other constant symbols, such as const constants or other Enum cases. That is not out of a lack of desire but simply because it turns out to be quite difficult to do. It's not a blocker for the remainder of the functionality listed here. If we or someone else can figure out how to make it work in the future it would be a good addition,

and github.com/php/php-src/pull/8190 I think. Unless I've misunderstood it.

The red and blue thing is an actual technique in rendering

It relies on the way the red green and blue color lights (per pixel) are positioned in the monitor to achieve rendering on a smaller than pixel level

@nielsdos And apparently on people having poor colour resolution in their eyes, so that it looks okay to most people. For people with high colour resolution (or at least myself) it looks 'noisy'.

hmmm. so I against my best will have to interact with a wordpress system, and I'm trying to test some part of my code that interacts with its wpdb class. There's a few hiccups, but it also looks like I can probably hack around it, but also I'm getting an intense sense of dread.

Has anyone sucessfully wrote a test that covers a function that instantiates a wpdb class? Am I chasing clouds?

@FélixAdriyelGagnon-Grenier No, is the short answer. the slightly longer answer is....if I had to test something that needed to interact with Wordpress, I'd wrap those interactions in a class with an interface, and just create test doubles for testing my own code, without having to have wordpress involved in the testing at all.
