Not that I know of. It's a bit of a coincidence from what I can tell, but I never really looked into it.
But yeah, Bosch I think did open a cybersecurity center there. And concidentally I am switching jobs next year to one of the cyber security companies that are located on the university campus. The ruhr area tries really hard to integrate some form of "tech hub", but its a slow transition.

You're not going to make a lot of money here though, if you're after that it's still pretty much Berlin or Munich in Germany.

@LandonZeKepitelOfGreytBritn It was like that here a couple of months ago. We lost most of our lettuce and more than half of our sweet potatoes production due to flood and rat plague. Although agriculture count towards a very very small percentage of our income, so monetary wise, I am not affected much at all. It's pity, because we did put in quite a bit effort into those crops.
