Okay. I don't know why Shog chose the four owners that he did. I'm just as guilty as everyone else for playing sideline and not reverting the name the moment I saw it. But the point is: Let's try to keep things from getting out of hand and not annoy the mods. They have enough shit to deal with. Shog was clearly at the end of a long day (and weekend) and he really didn't need us throwing vaginas around and then reverting his decision to kick the puppy from the owners list.

@Xeo depends on how the "find highest bit" piece works. if it just returns the bit number, then take 1 and shift it left that many bits. forget the origional number.

@RobertHarvey That, unfortunately, is quite true. I've never used it, but I have heard decent things about LMMS.

@JerryCoffin That looks interesting. It doesn't have to be free, but I guess I'm picky. Simplicity is important to me; I used Cakewalk for years but ditched it when the feature bloat became too onerous.

Right now I'm using Mixcraft 6, which probably sounds amateurish to some, but I've been doing some semi-professional mixing with it, and so far it's held up well. Only cost me $60.

@RobertHarvey At least IMO, the problem with Cakewalk wasn't feature bloat per se, but doing a poor job of presenting and integrating new features.

The LMMS demos are fairly impressive.
