We're currently facing some design issues at work

We're handling market data and build objects using these data (and potentially other objects). This results in a dependency tree

It's possible to update any piece of data in that tree

And of course, we need to update all the stuff that depends on it

There's a lazy update mechanism that actually does the update only when an impacted data is retrieved

The problem we're facing is the following: I get an object, everything updates if needed and I'm happy. Now I keep my object (a raw - eeeew - pointer to some stuff)

If an update is triggered on my object due to another get operation somewhere else, I'm fucked

Solution 1: use shared_ptr. A problem remains: now my pointer is still ok but the data is outdated
