Concurrency questions on SO are hard to answer unless it's made very simple like OpenMP.

I hardly ever do concurrency, and if I do it I use the actor model and message queues.

But Objective-C is almost exclusively used for GUI applications and those need concurrency if you don’t want to hang the UI. :<

Most of the concurrency I do is all static.

So I've never really had to deal with really nasty non-deterministic stuff outside of class projects.

In Objective-C you do concurrency by sending tasks (lambdas/functions) to one of the queues, and those that need to update the UI you send to the main queue. It’s pretty simple.

If you update all data on the main queue you won’t need mutexes this way.

As you see in that gui of that codeproject website, you click New and a new qfi file is created. It is like a virtual hard disk. You can click add, browse for files, and add them as data to that virtual file. What I want to do is add the same functionality with folders. I want to be able to create new virtual folders inside that "virtual hard disk" and browse through the folders.
