Worse: as you close as dup to a C++ question, there is no relevance for C. At least IIRC, for const qualified declarations (I intentionally avoid the terms "variables"/"objects"), static definitively has different meanings.
@HovercraftFullOfEels I did not. But as it stopped after I stated a suspicion and mentioned mods will notice eventually, I suspect a noob. The others in the room at that time were all regulars and I don't think none of them was playing false. Kidding - certainly, but that went way too far.
@TigerhawkT3 So, you want to ask a question and provide the answer? That's fine as long as your question contains all relevant information. Some days ago I had someone self-answering with information not given by the question, which I think is a violation of site-rules.
@Olaf Either self-answer or not; I just mean the question. There are a lot of topics and questions out there; if I write a new question for one of them, is it bad?
It currently seems like it's "okay" for new users to post common duplicates, so, since posts are supposed to be evaluated on their own merits, it should be okay for anyone to do that.
@SamuelLiew Now it need -10 more votes. I'd say there is something broken with the counter. That's why one should not compare for equality, but always >= for such things.
@TigerhawkT3 You should not write dups, unless there is no really good one. If new users would jump from a high tower, that does not mean you should, too.

@TigerhawkT3 Generally we determine how "okay" a question is by voting on the usefulness of the question. A common duplicate is only useful if it modifies the question in a relevant way, or creates a signpost for a class of questions which seems different but is actually the same.
@Olaf But they're rewarded for doing that. If I know the answer, I shouldn't post a question; if I know a question is a duplicate, I shouldn't answer it. How do I get rep now?
@4castle That would be the ideal voting scenario, but not very realistic.
@TigerhawkT3 Well, just my personal strategy, but I usually divide my workflow on SO into 2 parts: first I look for a question that's worth answering, and answer it (using CVs along the way), then I open SOCVR and work on review queues, meta, and general moderating stuff.

If we didn't have a reputation for being a free coding tutorial homework plagiarism software recommendation site, people would be less likely to ask those questions.
@4castle Looks to me like that question is simply mentioning that the OP has tried many tutorials. They're asking for someone to post the process, not a link to the process. Of course, that's not on-topic either, as it's too broad and using SO as a tutorial service.
I think the reality isn't quite as bad as we see it. We do a lot of work to clean up stuff, but we don't see all the people who do their research and end up not asking a question.
@JanDvorak The tag is so bad it basically burninated itself. I re-tagged 3 which weren't relevant to the tag, and the remaining 4 of home-networking need to be closed.

I find it odd that I'm the only person who downvoted anything on that page. A question about parsing HTML with regex, multiple answers with fragile regexes, and everyone else patting each other on the back.
Actually, strike that; one other person downvoted the question. But it also got an upvote somehow.
A question, for which I submitted a [cv-pls] (for most of the reasons available, including No MCVE), added enough code so that we know what is going on. It turns out to be a typo (OP used =to assign to the innnerHTML property instead of += to add to what is already there). Should I submit a new [cv-pls] and ask to have the old one deleted?
@FireAlarm does anyone have a idea why that was bumped three times again on the real-time page (FireAlarm printed in the console)? It only seems to have gotten an answer and an edit to the q, which should be two bumps not three?
nah. I saw it in the console. It printed thrice "not reporting <id> because it was already reported". If it would consider the original post as a bump, it would print that with every report
I normally don't run FireAlarm in all the rooms, so maybe the first time I'm noticing this but it seems to be weird

@Nkosi We don't tend to moderate old content that much (not very useful) unless it's seen recent activity or is otherwise significant. This one is... meh
Also, Nobody's instance crashed so I'm running it right now on my main comp. In few hours if Nobody cannot get his instance to start, I'm going to have to stop my instance
Oh, @NathanOliver, what you can also do is what we call "Poor Knight" in german. You whisk 1-2 eggs, and then soak toast with the whisked egg/s. Then you just throw it into the oiled pan & let it sit there for 2-3min on each side. :)

I sort of want to use his profile (which matches that), his comments & his question to explain to future readers why I came to the conclusion that the used adjectives fit him, as that's a vital part of the answer.
But I am kinda torn as that could be seen as personal.
