@JoeWatkins I got my bike back from the shop^H^H^H^H garage. It's so nice to have her back. I spent about 3 days trying to run normal errands on a naked bike with no storage.
I was going to say that reminds me of mine, until I realized they're probably different in most major points. Looks good thought ^^. My next is unlikely to be like my current, fully electronic and whatnot. It'd be nice to fix a broken throttle by replacing a cable instead of sending her in to get wiring redone. Not throwing shade at my current bike, this is why we have warranties, but yeah, newer is not always better
@Dereleased I also have a triumph sprint GT 1050, which is my darling ... and I don't want to ride her in winter ... and since I live on a 26 mile wide island, a little cruiser is making sense in winter when I don't go riding around the country ... I looked at that vn900, but it just seemed like overkill for a part time bike ...

@pinepain hi, I'm krakjoe, king of doing things you shouldn't with php ... why not create some threads, and override some engine opcodes in php, if that doesn't float your boat, I invite you to write a gui app in php, or generate some machine code ...
@JoeWatkins So, I'm glad these convos happen online where I can quickly google what you're talking about. The sprint looks like a fighter jet, I can understand not wanting to cover that in winter muck. That VN900 looks beautiful as well, but given what you describe... eh, I don't know, typical American excess, not sure if I could've resisted ;)
@Tiffany A lot of my code samples are several years old because (a) I've fleshed them out really well, and it's not super necessary to keep making new ones, and (b) in recent years I've gotten less and less interested in making things that are publicly available, meaning most of my work is the IP of my company, and I can't really go around showing that off.
I was working on a javascript calculator, and barring using someone else's example as a guide, I doubt I'll have it complete in the time I want to send my stuff into them
@Dereleased I was right there ready to go for the vn900, but riding it was just super awkward, maybe I'm too small/light or something ... that's why I went for a smaller cruiser in the end ... maybe I would have got used too it ... little cruiser just felt right
@JoeWatkins That's the most important thing. I know my bike is a bit smol, especially by HD standards, but it's felt right since the first day I sat on it, and that's been worth everything.
I've ridden my buddy's Shadow 1100, and there are things I like, but it does feel... odd...

@Tiffany One of my code samples is an anonymized version of something I made at work. The company I was with knew I was looking to leave, and while they weren't thrilled, they approved my usage of the anonymized thing. I ended up doing contract work for them on the side for the next 2 years anyhow, so they couldn't have been that mad.
they want proficiency in git too, maybe I just send them the github link to my calculator so they can see me working on it, rofl. it's an incomplete project, but hey... it shows my knowledge of git
Hey guys I have a friend who's trying to learn some SQL (MySQL) and he's having lots of trouble connecting to any database. We've tried external DB's, local, and even some shared. I gave him the same credentials I log in with; with no problems! Any ideas?
@Dereleased I think arses have a kind of intuition about these things ... it can look really beautiful but not feel right, don't think it smart to ride something that doesn't feel right ... what with the severe danger of death and all
@Dereleased I was redesigning a department's website. I asked them to give me examples of what they wanted. They printed out their website, cut out portions off content, and taped it to a piece of paper. I had it on my bulletin board for a long time as "old school cut and paste"

I read through http://php.net/manual/en/control-structures.elseif.php about `elseif` vs `else if` and I have a question. Is using no curly braces the same as using curly braces in terms of `elseif`?
Because it says you can only use else if if you have curly braces
@FlorianMargaine Thanks for that. I'm aware that you can only have 1 statement without curly braces but I prefer it without curly braces because it's more readable
@sweg_yolo_69 all the php standards require the curly braces on every case because it removes any ambiguity, and the possibility of forgetting them if you add a new line later on
@FlorianMargaine For simple statements, like changing the value of a variable, I prefer to not use curly braces at all, but if I have something more complex I'll add the curly braces
@Trowski I'm not sure that's what actually happened - I pressed "up" and added the s after rfc. I didn't mean to edit the previous message; I have been using the terminal a lot and wanted to re-execute the previous command except with 's' appended.
If you're using Apache and PHP, Apache created a POSIX thread for each request. Does this mean that each request generates a MySQL connection, or is there some kind of pool?

What I'm trying to do is make a link so that if there are any GET parameters include them and add the show_all_images one, but if there aren't any, just add show_all_images to the link
