I can use console.log() to print to chrome's debugging window, or firebug, or yui etc. But that is an asynchronous call. Does anyone know how to make a blocking console.log() call? Perhaps some sort of console.readline() method could be used?
david, If you alert something on a website, it freezes everything on the page until you click "ok" - although often annoying, this can also be useful. For example if you want to slow a very fast javascript function down so you can step though it.
Using console.log, especially in loops, can generate tons and tons of print messages, making it impossible to tell which one you actually wanted.
i have 'n' number of comboboxes. all the comboboxes have the same content. so once i select a few options from one combobox, those options should be removed from the other comboboxes. i was wondering how to go about this using jS or jQuery..

You could:
a) Run the code in tags in the head to reduce HTTP Reqs
b) Use Less.js to reduce your CSS file size
c) Minify your CSS file and JS here
Think about maintainability (made up a word?) your best to reference rather than apply the style to each element individually.

you can also edit after deleting, I've been in situations where I wrote an answer, the question completely changed, I deleted, edited, then undeleted and got the accept.
