Recently I gave serious thought about buying a small piece of rural land or a tiny island. But then I realised that it needs serious effort ... like there most likely would not be electricity or water supply, no road ... and worse still - no sewage, no rubbish collection.

One could use solar power & specialized battery and rain water to solve water & electricity issues

But the lacking of sewage & rubbish collection is really off putting
